Tried 3 Chinese restaurants in Durban—each with its own style. Any other recommendations, guys? 🍽 Da Shi Guan (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!) Went here twice—will definitely return! 1st visit (with boss): Boss personally picked a FRESH red garoupa for us—perfectly cooked, exquisite plating 👌🐟 ✅ Pork rib: Huge portion, super flavorful ✅ Beef pot(off-menu): Absolutely addictive The grilled fish at the next table smelled AMAZING—must try next time! 2nd visit (without boss): Local chef’s cooking lacked the same magic... ✅ Clam tofu soup: Broth was delicious (though clams were slightly overdone) ✅ Braised beef noodles: Richly marinated, solid choice 🥡 Qi Yang Famous "Three Treasures" combo—but quality has declined 😕 No duck that day (got extra pork as substitute... meh). Still a quick belly-filler though. 🍜 Tong Le Realized too late this was "Westernized Chinese"... ✴️ Singapore noodles: Oily & over-seasoned ✴️ "West Lake beef soup": SWEET?! 😳 Thoughts: Often feel like SA Chinese food never hits like homemade.
