🇿🇦 Wandering Around | Guide to Sabie Town + Kruger Route
Sabie is a small town you’ll pass through when returning to Johannesburg from Kruger National Park (though it still depends on your route).🗾 I’ve been to Sabie three times, and the food and activities in the town are noted in the pictures.🌌🎆 1️⃣ September 2021: I also passed through Sabie on the way back to Johannesburg from Kruger. We took a short stroll around the town, had lunch, and left.🏜️🏜️ 2️⃣ April 2022: I visited again, this time staying overnight in the town. ❄️ The accommodation was warm and comfortable – recommended: Hillwatering Country House. 3️⃣ September 2023: Another brief stop in the town while driving back to Johannesburg from Kruger.🌧️ There are many self-driving routes to and from Kruger, with plenty of scenic spots and small towns along the way. 😃😃 It’s advisable to stop and explore as you go – after all, "you’re already here"!👣 Recommended attractions along the Kruger route:👣👣 📍 Alzu Petroport N4 – About 2+ hours’ drive from Johannesburg, it’s a service station on the way to Kruger, with gas stations, restaurants, gift shops, and unique rhino statues and other animal displays (I shared more about this in a previous post).🏛️ 📍 Dullstroom town – Detailed in my last post. 📍 Bourke's Luck Potholes: One of the attractions along the way, with a small entrance fee (can’t remember the exact amount). It’s about a 2km walk around.👀 📍 God’s Window: I’ve been twice. On the last visit, I was chased and attacked by a wild monkey in the scenic area, ending up with a bite 🙄. The last time I was harassed by monkeys was at Qianling Mountain in Guizhou! I hate monkeys!👍 📍 Sabie town: A nice place to rest and wander on the return trip, as mentioned earlier.🍠 📍 Graskop town: Home to a great attraction – Graskop Gorge Lift Co., with zip lines and sky swings.🏛️ As someone afraid of heights, I just watched without participating.🗾🗾 📍 Lydenburg town: Stayed here overnight last year, but it had no special features and I can barely remember it 😅. There are many other attractions along the way that we didn’t stop at. If you have enough time, feel free to explore them all.🏖️🏖️🏖️ #SouthAfrica#Africa#SouthAfricaKrugerNationalPark
