🌟 3-Day Art Escape: Asheville, North Carolina 🌄
This trip was inspired by the annual "Re Happening" exhibition at Black Mountain College — I ended up spending about a week in the area, with three full days dedicated to exploring Asheville. Though the city leans toward an older demographic, it’s bursting with artistic charm and a strong handmade craft culture! 🖼️ Must-Visit Spots: ✨ The Omni Grove Park Inn – iconic architecture, beautiful craft shops, and stunning mountain views. ✨ Black Mountain College Site – now a boys' camp, but the location is gorgeous. Their annual April event is a can’t-miss! ✨ Downtown Asheville – packed with galleries, craft stores, and creative energy. Don’t miss the glassblowing studios! The River Arts District is also full of inspiring spots. 🍽️ Food & Drinks: ✨ Double D’s Coffee & Dessert – a fun bus-themed café 🚌 ✨ Chai Pani – authentic and delicious Indian food! A tasty surprise 🤤 ✨ 12 Bones Smokehouse – local favorite, but ribs were a bit tough. Prefer Bear's Smokehouse (with live music!) ✨ Red Ginger – Chinese dim sum spot. Try the mouthwatering chicken (sweet style), green beans, and hot & sour soup. 🏆 Top Restaurant Picks: ✨✨ Plant – amazing vegan restaurant (see previous post!) 🌱 ✨✨ Curate – fantastic Spanish tapas bar (check my earlier review!) #NorthCarolina #NCArtTown #AshevilleEats #AshevilleNC #TravelUSA #ArtLovers #CraftCulture #BlackMountainCollege #FoodieAdventure
