3 days and 2 nights in Florence are totally enough!
Continuing from the previous Europe travel post, we went from Rome to Florence. For Rome, check out the last post! 🏠 Accommodation: Where we stayed isn’t recommended! But the rule of thumb is to choose a safe hotel near the train station—it makes everything so much more convenient!!! Must be close to the train station. 🚌 Transportation: Italian trains are super convenient! Book train tickets in advance. Choose Italo whenever possible. See Figure 2—you can book directly on the Italo app (no delays or strikes, spacious, luggage can be locked. Recommend buying seats in the last row of Carriage 7, marked with a dog symbol—extra space to fit two 28-inch suitcases!). 🚄 Itinerary: 1️⃣ Day 1: Take the train from Roma Termini at 8:55–10:30 to Firenze Santa Maria Novella → store luggage at the hotel → lunch at Mercato Centrale (Da Nerbone’s century-old lampredotto sandwich) → Medici Chapel → Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (queue on-site to enter; closes at 15:30 on Sundays) → Piazza della Repubblica → Piazza della Signoria → Ponte Vecchio → Piazzale Michelangelo for sunset and night views. 2️⃣ Day 2: Florence → Pisa → Cinque Terre → Florence Book train tickets from Florence to Pisa directly on major travel apps (e.g., Ctrip, Qunar)! See Figure 3—super convenient. No check-in needed, just board the train. Note: The stop must be Pisa S. Rossore!!! This station is an 8-minute walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa—super convenient! Just take photos outside the tower—no need to go inside. This leaves time for Cinque Terre in the afternoon (I went to Pisa in the afternoon due to time constraints, so I returned directly to Florence afterward. The same train method applies for returning from Pisa to Florence). 3️⃣ Day 3: Florence → Uffizi Gallery → Accademia Gallery → Venice Only half a day in Florence on the third day. Go early and queue at the Uffizi Gallery at 8:00 AM to buy tickets. Before 8:45 AM, tickets are only €19 (much cheaper than the official website!) and with fewer people. You can buy tickets and enter in 5 minutes~ If time allows, visit the Accademia Gallery afterward! 🍔 Food: The best is Mercato Centrale—the lampredotto sandwich is incredibly delicious with loads of meat. Lots of other food and drinks too, great value~ Then try a highly-rated steakhouse for T-bone steak🥩—the portions are huge! #NonSpecialForcesTravel #Florence #FlorenceTravel #FlorenceTrip #ItalyTravelGuide #EuropeTravelGuide
