4-Day Speedrun in Fairbanks

šŸ”ļøšŸš—šŸ’ØEven though this trip felt a bit rushed, I think I managed to cover almost everything worth doing! šŸ˜† Here’s a little recap with some highlights and… well, a few interesting moments šŸ˜‰ šŸ•ā€šŸ¦ŗ Dog Sledding – Firewalkers Alaskan Malamute If you’re planning to try dog sledding in Fairbanks, I totally recommend Firewalkers Alaskan Malamute! I spent way too much time scrolling through Google reviews comparing all the dog sledding tours in the area, and honestly, their dogs are THE CUTEST! šŸ¾ā¤ļø The owner (or main musher) is a Russian guy—super friendly and super professional. One thing to note: they only accept cash! šŸ’µ To book, you can call or text the number on their official website. The whole experience was freezing but incredibly fun—those fluffy malamutes pulling the sled through snowy trails… absolutely unforgettable! Definitely a must-do if you’re in Fairbanks during winter! šŸŒ Near the Arctic Circle This part of the trip truly embodied the saying: ā€œThe journey matters more than the destination.ā€ šŸ›£ļøāœØ The landscapes along the way were breathtaking—vast white emptiness, frozen rivers, and endless snowy forests. As for the Arctic Circle itself… well, it’s one of those places you might regret going to (but I don’t regret it at all because… I GOT ENGAGED HERE! šŸ™ˆšŸ’ā¤ļø), but you’d also regret not going. It’s mostly a symbolic visit—you stand on a line, take a photo, and say ā€œI’ve been to the Arctic Circle!ā€ Still, the drive itself was so worth it. The raw, untouched beauty of Alaska’s wilderness is something else. šŸ«Ž Reindeer Ranch Okay, this one was… interesting. šŸ˜… When I booked the Reindeer Ranch tour, I low-key expected some kind of sleigh ride or interactive activity. But nope—it was basically a reindeer observation session. And by observation, I mean watching them eat, sleep, and… poop. A lot. šŸ’© They’re cute, don’t get me wrong, but wow, those guys are STINKY. Like, really, impressively smelly. Maybe it was just the day I went, but it felt more like a wildlife bathroom break than an adventure. Not sure if I’d recommend unless you’re really into reindeer… or their… aromas. šŸ’« Northern Lights Outbreak on the Way Back from the Arctic Circle We got SO LUCKY! 🌌 On our way back from the Arctic Circle, the skies cleared up and—BAM—aurora explosion! It was my first time seeing the Northern Lights, and I was literally screaming in the car. 😱✨ The greens and purples were dancing right above us, swirling and shifting like something out of a fantasy movie. We pulled over, turned off the engine, and just stared in silence (after freaking out, of course). It was magical, spiritual, and honestly one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed. If you’re going to Fairbanks, chasing the aurora is a must. Just dress warm and be patient! ā™Øļø Chena Hot Springs We went to Chena Hot Springs at night… and saw basically nothing. šŸ˜‘ Well, except for these eerie, almost hellish red lights glowing around the hot spring area. It gave off major underworld vibes—like something out of a horror game. Still, we managed to take a few moody photos that kinda slayed? šŸ“øšŸ”„ The water was warm and relaxing, but I wish we’d gone during daylight to actually see the surrounding scenery. At night, it’s just you, the steam, and… spooky red lighting. Not exactly the serene natural spring experience I imagined, but hey, it made for some interesting content! Overall, Fairbanks was a blast—a mix of adventure, romance, smelly reindeer, and magical skies. If you’re short on time, it’s totally possible to speedrun the main attractions, but I’d recommend taking it slow if you can. Alaska’s beauty is in its vastness and silence. Definitely coming back someday! ā„ļøšŸ¤ #US #Alaska #Firewalkers Alaskan Malamute
