š“ 4 Spots to Try on the Upper West Side š“
š The Upper West Side may not be the first neighborhood to come to mind when thinking of NYC's best food, but it is home to a few gems! Here are four of my favorite spots to eat at when in the area. š Mama's TOO! š One of my favorite pizza spots in NYC! Their slices are thick, with a crispy bottom, a doughy center, and hefty toppings. If you prefer a traditional NY style, don't fret, they have that too. š“ My favorite slices to grab here are their Vodka, Grandma, and Cacio e Pepe. If you are here during the summer months, be sure to also grab a cup of their housemade gelato. šØ Maison Pickle š½ļø A family-friendly, American restaurant with a large menu that has something for everybody. The portions here are huge, so I recommend going with a big group. š„ Some dishes here are better than others, but you can't go wrong with any of the following: Caesar Salad, French Dip, Chicken and Eggplant Parm, Mac and Cheese, 24 Layer Chocolate Cake. š° Mimi Cheng's Dumplings š„ Home to some of the best dumplings in NYC. I love their classic, chicken-filled dumplings which have a chewy wrapper, a crisped bottom, and are filled with a juicy, flavorful filling. š„ They also do fun, innovative monthly specials, often in collaboration with other local businesses like Emmy Squared and Peter Luger. I also recommend trying their spicy cucumber salad and scallion pancakes! š® Dagon š² An excellent Mediterranean restaurant with great hummus, chicken schnitzel, kubaneh bread, eggplant, lamb, and more! Come hungry and order a lot! š½ļø I've tried nearly 15 different dishes over two visits, and can truly say that every single one was special. They do get busy, so I recommend making a reservation in advance. š #nycfoodreview #nycguide #newyorkcity #upperwestside
