The church is open internally only before 7:30 a.m. and after 5:30 p.m., so visitors can only admire the exterior or peek through windows to see the interior. Old Town: A 15-minute walk from the Blue Church, the Old Town has a maze of intertwining streets that are easy to get lost in—perfect for aimless wandering. Key attractions include: - Michael's Gate: A central European landmark. - St. Martin's Cathedral: Free admission. There's also an observation deck nearby with a great view of the UFO Bridge. - Old Town Hall Square: When we visited, a street artist was playing the cello, and two young tourists were dancing to the music. - Photo Opportunities: The Bratislava Castle can be seen from the Old Town streets. - Local Delights: 1️⃣ Pressburg Bajgel: Croissants with various fillings, dating back to 1890. 2️⃣ Luculus Ice Cream: Recommended on Xiaohongshu but I couldn't find it. 🍦 - Bratislava Castle: A 12-minute walk from St. Martin's Cathedral. It's currently a museum, and you can enjoy panoramic views of the city. We didn't visit due to a delayed FilxBus in the morning. Dining: Meštiansky pivovar:** Established in 1752, this place is famous for its grilled pork ribs and potato dumplings. Address: Dunajská 21, 811 08 Staré Mesto Other Tips: 1️⃣ Avoid dragging your suitcase around Bratislava. 2️⃣ The euro is the local currency in Slovakia. 3️⃣ Luggage Storage: After arriving at Nivy bus station, you'll see self-service lockers. Select English on the screen, choose storage duration (3h, 12h, 24h) with different prices. You'll need to enter your phone number (⚠️ Chinese numbers won't receive verification codes, so use a European number). You'll receive a 6-digit code (which is crucial). Enter the last three digits, pay with your credit card, and place your luggage in the locker. To retrieve your luggage, select "Retrieve" on the screen and use the 6-digit code to open the locker. 4️⃣ The Old Town is compact, so 5-6 hours should be sufficient for exploring.
