First time in Hawaii? This 4-night Big Island + 3-night Oahu self-drive trip was unforgettable — though I still didn’t want to leave! Here’s my scenic route: ✈️ Day 1: Arrival → Big Island Landed at Honolulu (HNL) → flew to Kona (KOA) Checked into Airbnb Dinner at a seaside restaurant in Kona town + caught a stunning sunset 🌅 🌱 Day 2: Big Island Exploration Greenwell Farm Coffee Tour ☕: Free coffee farm tour (just walk in on the hour!) Waipio Valley Shuttle Tour: Sadly missed it — said to be gorgeous 😢 Kua Bay Beach: Small but beautiful beach 🏖️ 🐢 Day 3: Turtles & Volcanoes Carlsmith Beach Park: Spotted a huge sea turtle near the shore! Volcanoes National Park 🌋: Family-friendly geothermal park (~2 hrs loop) Pohoiki Bay Hot Spring: Hidden natural hot springs 💧 🟢 Day 4: Southern Adventures Green Sand Beach: Took a local shuttle from the parking lot 🚐 Southernmost Point of the U.S. 🇺🇸: Quiet & breathtaking views Two Steps: Snorkeled with tons of fish 🐠 — bring your own gear! 🏝️ Day 5: Fly Back → Oahu East Coast Morning flight to Honolulu → relaxed lunch Drove the East Scenic Route: Halona Blowhole Lookout Makapuʻu Lookout Lanikai Beach Nuʻuanu Pali Lookout 🌊 (The landscapes here are unreal!) ⛰️ Day 6: Hikes & Gardens Koko Crater Railway Trail: My FAVORITE!
