A bowl of fragrant black truffles and cow sea urchin stewed rice

I’m actually someone who can’t live without spice, but The Dolar Shop has always been the only non-Sichuan hotpot spot I’ll visit. I think their ingredients are quality, and after eating, my stomach feels comfortable—no post-meal thirst! This time, we tried some new dishes and were pleasantly surprised—here’s an honest review~ ✨ We both got (double-flavor hotpot). I went for the spicy broth + pork tripe and chicken broth, while Lao Wang tried their new black truffle mushroom broth. This mushroom broth was such a nice surprise! I thought it’d be just like regular mushroom broth, but the black truffle flavor was really intense—if you love truffle, definitely give it a try~ But I’ll always stick to my pork tripe and chicken broth. Even though I’m not a huge fan of the pork tripe that comes with it, the broth is yyds (forever the best)~ ✨ Black Truffle Wagyu and Uni Clay Pot Rice This was such a highlight❗ The aroma hit as soon as it arrived. The server helped mix it up, and you could see tons of golden, crispy rice crust mixed with beef crumbles and uni, all with that black truffle kick~ I usually don’t eat much rice, but I had two bowls that day! The only downside is it’s a bit pricey at $29~ ✨ Diamond Label Wagyu Its Chinese name is something like “Supreme Marbled Wagyu”—so good❗ The fat marbling is super even. The portion doesn’t look huge, but it’s so flavorful that it’s super satisfying to eat~ ✨ Gold Label Wagyu This is thick-cut wagyu. The meat quality is great—super fresh! It’s not as richly fatty as the Diamond Label, but it’s $10 cheaper per portion~ ✨ Vegetable Platter + Bamboo Fungus A forever staple~ It has frozen tofu, wood ear mushrooms, spinach, cabbage, enoki mushrooms, tomato, and corn. I usually order an extra portion of bamboo fungus—it’s amazing simmered in the pork tripe and chicken broth! ✨ Salt and Pepper Black Gold Tofu Crispy salt-and-pepper coating around tender tofu. I think it’s even better after a quick dip in the spicy broth~ ✨ Sour Plum Soup + Durian Double Skin Milk I order the sour plum soup every time—clean ingredients, and the rock sugar isn’t overly sweet. The durian double skin milk has a big chunk of whole durian—so fragrant~ ✨ The Dolar Shop ✨ 36-36 Prince St, Flushing, NY 11354 #NewYorkHotpot #FlushingHotpot #Flushing #TheDolarShop #NewYorkFood #NewYorkFoodGuide #FlushingFood #NewYorkLife #NewYorkChineseFood #FlushingChineseFood #NewYorkFoodie #FlushingNYFood #NewYorkFoodRecommendations
