A Century-Old Restaurant Next to Cologne Cathedral

How can you come to Germany without trying roasted pork knuckle? 🤤 While passing by the famous Cologne Cathedral, I decided to grab lunch. I randomly chose a highly-rated place, and it turned out to be a well-known establishment in Cologne! 🍻 It's from the same brand as Gaffel beer (which is excellent and has a unique aroma). The pork knuckle served with sauerkraut and potatoes is HUGE! Unless you have two or three people, think twice before trying it alone. Every time I have German roasted pork knuckle, the first bite is stunning, the second bite is okay, the third bite is average, and by the fourth bite, it starts to get a bit heavy. 😅 The tangy sauerkraut and beer help cut through the richness, but there wasn’t enough sauerkraut to balance it out, so it got heavy pretty quickly. The pork in Europe tends to have a strong gamey flavor, especially the meat deeper inside, so if you're sensitive to that, it's best to avoid it. As shown in the picture, it costs €27. #Cologne #CologneCathedral #CologneRestaurants #CologneFoodExploration #CologneEats
