A church where Botticelli is buried
There is a church near the school that allows free entry. I wandered in casually and was surprised to find that the Renaissance painter Botticelli, known for his famous works "Primavera" (Spring) and "The Birth of Venus," is buried there. Behind the church is a small chapel. Though small, ❤️❤️❤️ it is serene and beautiful, adorned with medieval frescoes. Next to the frescoes are underdrawings. I asked an elderly Italian man who was visiting if the underdrawings were unfinished original works. 🤓🤓🤓 He told me that they were actually completed works. The two paintings were originally one piece, but now they are displayed on another wall to show how the artist created the frescoes. This way, the original underdrawings are revealed. The man is a local from Florence. It took me a while to understand him due to my halting Italian, but he tried his best to explain in his broken Italian-English, which I found really endearing.😀😀😀 Florence, the temple of art, is filled with precious artworks. The most precious ones are actually free and easily accessible everywhere. Florence is truly an open-air museum. Only by immersing yourself in this environment for a long time can you truly appreciate it. The locals also have a deep love for art. I really enjoy communicating with them, especially the elderly. It's such a blessing. 😁😁😁 #Fresco #Renaissance #Famous #Italy #Italian
