A Day of Museum-Hopping in Amsterdam! 🎨
One day for a city walk and one day for museums—turns out, the museum day became a real special forces mission. I definitely overestimated my stamina! Luckily, Amsterdam’s major museums are close to each other, making the route easy to follow. Originally, I had Moco Museum on my list too, but time was simply not on my side! If you’re planning to do this all in one day, here’s my recommended order for a smooth flow of art timelines and visual styles: Morning: Rijksmuseum 🖼️ 🕒 Time needed: 3-4 hours (you can reserve slots anytime!) The museum has three floors. The ground floor covers Dutch art from the 17th century to the present, along with Asian collections and special exhibitions. I caught the “Point of View” exhibit, which was fascinating. It presented progressive ideas on gender diversity and equality, smoothly integrated with Dutch historical artifacts—it was truly impressive! On other floors, you’ll also find some Van Gogh works, Rembrandt’s Night Watch, and Vermeer’s The Milkmaid! Afternoon: Van Gogh Museum 🌻 🕒 Time needed: about 3.5 hours (they often release more tickets for the next day in the afternoon, so try checking around 5 PM the day before!) If you’re familiar with Van Gogh’s life story, you might not even need an audio guide! The artworks are arranged with clear themes that reflect his timeline, key events, and mental health journey. It’s an intuitive display, making it easy to follow the progression of his style and moods through the years. #Netherlands #Amsterdam #AmsterdamMuseums #AmsterdamExhibitions #Rijksmuseum #VanGoghMuseum #TheMilkmaid #VanGoghSunflowers #VanGoghBlossomingAlmondTree
