A Day Trip to Portland, Maine 🌊🦞

Today was sunny and beautiful ☀️. Feeling a bit bored in Boston and craving some fresh seafood 🦞, I decided to drive two hours to Portland. Everyone has been recommending Eventide Oyster Co., so I blindly followed the trend 🐑💨. But honestly… except for their lobster sliders, the food was pretty disappointing 😔. We had to wait in line for 30 minutes, so we took a seat outside. Sitting by the entrance with the ocean breeze blowing felt like being banished to the cold palace ❄️😫… That wind was so chilly and made my head dizzy! HOWEVER! 👏 I’m a uni lover through and through 🧡, so I had to check out ISF Seafood Market. The lady working there—at first, we thought she was Japanese, but after chatting for a bit, we found out she’s actually from Dalian! 👵🇨🇳 She was super warm and enthusiastic. She explained everything about the uni, then started introducing us to pasteurized eggs and even how their chickens are raised 🐓🌽! Apparently, they’re fed sea cucumber powder and corn… and she went on about the amazing benefits of sea cucumber powder 😂 But most importantly—THEIR SALTED UNI IS REALLY, REALLY, REALLY FRESH 🎉! It melts in your mouth… so delicious I could cry 😭!! A whole box was only $28 🤑. I devoured it with nori and rice like there was no tomorrow 🍚🤤. Another happy day for the books~ 💖 #Portland #PhotoSpots #MaineFoodDiary
