A Duck Fat Whiskey Experience You Won’t Want to Miss! 🦆🥃
Visited the highly-rated Atchafalaya for some authentic Southern cuisine! 🍽️ The server first recommended a duck fat washed Sazerac—sounded intriguing! 🧐 Later learned it’s a Southern tradition: sweet and smooth, though I gotta admit… I couldn’t really taste the “duck aroma.” 😅 Still, a fun try! Paired with the duck fat whiskey, we had: 🧀 Fried oysters with cheese grits 🍤 Fried green tomatoes with shrimp 🍚 Duck breast rice bowl The first two were especially standout—the corn grits with the oysters were absolutely delicious! 👌🌽 This meal was a delightful sweet-and-savory cycle! The complimentary cornbread before the meal was the best I’ve had in the U.S.—so good I asked for two more! 😋 The server forgot at first but made up for it later by gifting us a (super tasty) pudding dessert after our main sweets. A happy accident! 🍮💫 The chocolate crème brûlée was silky and rich, with a perfectly torched crispy top and a bitterness level that’s just right—not too sweet, exactly how we like it! 🍫❤️ 📍Atchafalaya | 901 Louisiana Ave, New Orleans, LA 70115, United States Have you tried duck fat-infused whiskey or Southern classics like these?
