🚗 A Fantastic Local Hangout! 🚗

I went to Katie’s for lunch because it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives – and it was totally worth the visit! 📺✨ The restaurant is actually a renovated house in a charming, rustic neighborhood. It’s a cozy, medium-sized spot, and when I arrived at 11:40 AM, it wasn’t too busy. But as lunchtime rolled around, locals started pouring in, and the place quickly filled up with a lively, friendly vibe. 👥🍴 I snagged a seat right at the bar. The menu is pretty extensive, but Elizabeth – the bartender and my server – helped me decide since it was my first time in New Orleans. She was so knowledgeable and welcoming; I got the feeling she might be part-owner or a long-time staff member. 👩🍳💖 I ordered Scotie’s Special: a 9-inch hot roast beef, ham, and Swiss Po’boy topped with tomato, lettuce, and pickles. 🥪🔥 It was packed with thinly sliced roast beef (a bit on the dry side), warm sliced ham, and gooey melted cheese. Everything was well-seasoned, though there was so much meat that it almost overshadowed the tomato and lettuce! That said, it was still a fantastic sandwich. And as always with Po’boys, the bread made all the difference – soft, fluffy, yet sturdy enough to hold all those fillings without falling apart. That’s one thing I’ve noticed about Po’boys here: the bread always holds up, which is a huge plus for me since messy sandwiches and burgers are one of my biggest pet peeves! 😅 All in all, a delicious meal in a warm, authentic atmosphere.
