A Female Uni Student's 5-Day Group Tour in Fairbanks

Follow-up: A Female Uni Student's 5-Day Group Tour in Fairbanks Solo... 【Itinerary】 The tour included some attraction tickets, while specialty activities like dog sledding 🛷 and blue ice cave exploration 🧊 required additional payment. I flew roundtrip from my home country ✈️ to Fairbanks, and the itinerary was decent — essentially a semi-independent trip. Our driver-guide was super reliable, with zero hidden costs throughout. The group vibe was relaxed and fun 😊👭. I was a bit worried about feeling lonely traveling alone at first, but I ended up blending right in with everyone~ 【Accommodation】 The accommodations were solid — clean and tidy!! Heating was excellent 🔥~ I shared a room with another girl to save some money 💰. Soundproofing was great! Slept comfortably all 4 nights — none of the issues mentioned online 😴💤. 【Food】 The tour didn’t include meals — which I loved! I’m a picky eater and not into typical group meal options, so finding my own food was perfect. I tried several hyped restaurants, and my only feedback is: DON’T trust !!! Out of three picks, none were good 😅. Better to ask locals or your guide, or you’ll waste money 💸! But Moose's Tooth Pub & Pizzeria was truly delicious ! A bit pricey though — around $40 for a pizza 🍕💸. Chena Hot Springs ♨️🧊 My least favorite activity — kinda felt tricked by all the pretty photos online. Sure, frozen eyelashes and hair are unique, but honestly, I wish I’d skipped it 😅. The facilities felt underwhelming — packed with people both inside and out, no place to put your phone near the pool (bring a waterproof pouch or you’ll be holding it in -40°C air), and the lockers/changing rooms weren’t clean. I left in less than half an hour 🚪💨. 【Conclusion】 This trip was seriously comfortable — just bundle up, I’ve officially become a “frozen beauty” 🥶❄️! One small regret: we only saw the aurora on the third and final chase night 🌌✨! It was my first time traveling abroad alone with a group tour, and I totally made the right choice! Girls, don’t just listen to others saying group tours are sketchy — do your research, it’s actually not that bad! #USA#AlaskaTravel#AlaskaState#FemaleUniTravel#SoloGroupTour#FairbanksGuide#GroupTourExperience#AuroraDiary
