🎨 A Final Farewell | Goodbye, Picasso
It’s the weekend, and today I don’t just want to talk about food — I want to write a tribute. This one is for Picasso, the Michelin-starred restaurant at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. 💔 The End of an Era I recently heard that Picasso is closing, reportedly because Chef Julian Serrano is retiring. The news hit hard — so many unique memories came rushing back. 🍽️ When Food Plays Second Fiddle to Art Let’s be honest: the dishes were beautifully presented, each one like a work of art. But in terms of flavor? Let’s just say “it depends on your taste.” It wasn’t the kind of place where you’d slap the table and shout “Wow, this is delicious!” — it was more about refinement and ceremony. ✨ What I Truly Miss: The People & The Paintings 👨🦳 The Elegant French Waiters What I miss most is the atmosphere. The waitstaff were all dignified French gentlemen — impeccably dressed, graceful, and full of Gallic charm. They chatted with us casually while serving, with a kind of old-school poise that’s rare in restaurants today. ⛲️ The Unmatched Fountain Experience I’ll never forget the night our waiter invited me to the restaurant’s private terrace — “the best view,” he said — and took photos for me. Only after I’d soaked in the moment did he resume service with a warm smile. 🖼️ My Biggest Regret Not truly seeing the art. I’d heard the paintings on the walls were all original Picassos, but I was too busy dining, chatting, and watching the fountains to really stop and appreciate them. I always thought I’d have another chance… but with the restaurant closing, I may never get to experience those masterpieces in that setting again. 📝 Nutsmom’s Final Take: Picasso was a place where the ambiance and art far outweighed the food. Its closing feels like the end of an era — one of old-world romance. I’m grateful I got to experience it, but I’ll always wish I’d experienced it more deeply. #LasVegas #VegasEats #MichelinDining #PicassoRestaurant #Bellagio #VegasMemories
