A Foodie Dad’s 70th Birthday in the Big Easy! 🎉👨🍳

Can you believe it? My dad — a man who lives to eat — just turned 70 and had never been to New Orleans! 🎂✈️ So we flew straight to the Big Easy for a full-day food celebration that he’ll remember forever! 🍤🎷 After arriving in the French Quarter, Dad decided his final stop before heading back to the airport had to be Mother’s Restaurant 🏡🍽️ — and what a perfect choice it turned out to be! He went all out, determined to try as many dishes as possible 🥘😋. The staff was incredibly warm and encouraging, cheering him on and making him feel truly special on his big day 💖👏. While there are plenty of upscale dining spots on Magazine Street, we were craving real, homestyle Southern comfort food — and that’s exactly what Mother’s delivered! 🥧🍛 Here’s just a taste of what he tried (and finished most of!), in no particular order: Crawfish Étouffée 🦞 Ferdi Special Po'Boy 🥪 Bread Pudding 🍮 Sweet Potato Pancakes 🍠 Catfish Fillets 🐟 Cheesy Grits 🧀 Shrimp & Oyster Po'Boy 🍤🦪 Gumbo 🍲 And a side of crispy fries 🍟 Washed down with refill after refill of Arnold Palmer 🥤💛 — mission absolutely accomplished! ✅ We had the best time together, filled with laughter, full bellies, and heartwarming service 😊💞.
