Opened last May in Oaklandās Temescal neighborhood, this spot catches your eye immediately with its Klein blue storefrontājust peeking through the window is enough to make you stop. š French Foundation, Mexican Soul They specialize in croissants and sourdough, but with a clear Mexican twist. This time I tried a few unique items: Chocolate Concha: A cross between Dutch crunch and brioche Flan Croissant: Excellent lamination, sweet and creamy inside Apricot Jam Rosquilla (Mexican-style ābagelā): Unexpectedly my favorite! Corn Scone: Hearty, with a nice coarse texture āļø Drinks Are Just Okay The drink menu includes a few Mexican-inspired coffee options. My partner ordered the Cafe de Olla (black coffee with cinnamon and star anise syrup)āthe spices were intense, a bit too bold for my taste š š Tips Lines can form on weekends but move quickly. Go early or pre-order online. Limited outdoor seating.
