A Full Day of City Walk in Philadelphia 🚶

I explored Philadelphia entirely on foot—such a walkable city, it made me happy 🄹! šŸš„ Transportation: Took the 9:30 AM Amtrak from New York’s Penn Station, arriving in Philadelphia around 11 AM. 1ļøāƒ£ City Hall / Love Park After getting off the train, I basically walked straight ahead (well, sort of—I might have wandered a few blocks, but I was just meandering, so I don’t really remember the exact route šŸ™Š). From here, you can actually see the Art Museum in the distance! šŸ™‚ City Hall is absolutely stunning, but the weather wasn’t great—it was all gray and overcast, which took a little away from the view ā˜ļø. 2ļøāƒ£ Dizengoff (Lunch Stop) For lunch, I tried a creative Middle Eastern spot (I think? šŸ¤”). I ordered the Sabich platter šŸŒæā€”it’s a veggie dish, super fresh and flavorful 🫔. While eating, I heard people at the next table rave about their pita bread, so I grabbed an extra to go as a snack 🄔. 3ļøāƒ£ Market St. → 4ļøāƒ£ Liberty Bell & Independence Hall (Liberty Hall) After lunch, I walked along Market Street. There are shops on both sides šŸ›ļø, but Philadelphia’s streetscape has a unique charm of its own—fun to just stroll and take in the vibe. Eventually, I reached the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall (both had lines, so be prepared to wait a bit!). Lately, Independence Hall has been offering free tours (9:15 AM – 2:45 PM, every 30 minutes—check the official website for details šŸ“…). The grandpa who guided our tour was so energetic! We got a full, engaging lesson on the history here šŸ“–. 5ļøāƒ£ Penn’s Landing After that, I walked through Old City to reach Penn’s Landing, where there’s a bridge—but I didn’t cross it. Old City is supposed to have an arts district too, but I didn’t have time to check it out šŸ˜ā€”next time! 6ļøāƒ£ Philadelphia Museum of Art My last stop was the Art Museum—and good thing, because it stays open until 8 PM every Friday! But I made a mistake: I took the subway from the bridge area, and the subway felt a bit unsafe šŸš‡. Taking the bus would’ve been better—it’s faster and lets you see more of the city. I got off the subway near City Hall, then walked about 25 minutes to the museum. Along the way, I passed a street lined with flags and several other museums, but I was short on time and couldn’t visit them 😭. And to top it off—it started raining! ā˜” Inside the museum, besides works by Van Gogh (though his Sunflowers 🌻 are on display elsewhere right now) and Impressionist painters, they also have pieces by Sor Juana—I was so excited to see that 🄹🫔! 7ļøāƒ£ Back to Amtrak Station šŸš‰ After leaving the museum, I walked 15-20 minutes along the Schuylkill River to get back to the train station—perfect way to wrap up the day. #StudyAbroadNorthAmerica #InternationalStudent #City_Walk #Philadelphia #NorthAmericaTravel #NorthAmerica #Travel #PhiladelphiaStreets #ArtMuseum
