A Hidden Gem of Japanese Cuisine in New York
Today, I had the pleasure of dining at an incredibly amazing omakase place! I've already raved about it to my friends, but that's not enough ๐ I can't wait to share it with you all!! The ingredients here are all very fresh and abundant. They're not stingy with their high-quality offerings like wagyu beef and Hokkaido sea urchin! I watched the owner skillfully prepare a large ๐ฆ rainbow king crab! After preparing it, there was a bowl full of crab meat! The place is lined with walls of wine on both sides, and the owner generously gifted us a pot of yuzu lemon sake๐ถ. It's crisp and refreshing, so delicious! I feel very comfortable dining here. Watching the chef slice the fish, arrange everything neatly, and keep the counter spotless is a pleasant experience. Most importantly, the chef, noticing that we speak Mandarin, explains each dish to us in both English and Mandarin, translating the ingredients for us. The most memorable dish for me was the golden-eye snapper with kelp. I knew kelp as seaweed, but it was surprisingly translucent. I asked him how it was done, and he told me that the green parts are removed, leaving only the clear center! This place has been around for seven or eight years. It was temporarily closed for a year during the ๐ท pandemic. It's hidden underground next to the Koutou House in Flushing, outside the Tangram building. I think the $168 spent here is definitely worth it! #FlushingJapaneseCuisine #NewYorkOmakase #NewYorkRisingOmakase #NewYorkOmakaseRecommendations
