A Hilarious Boat Adventure in Utrecht
The canals in Utrecht are especially beautiful! šļø Unlike Amsterdam, itās much less crowded, and photos canāt even capture half of its charm. If you have time, renting a boat to cruise the canals is a fantastic ideaāsuper chill and relaxing! Unless you end up in one of those white pedal boats like we did. š« Sure, theyāre cheap (ā¬38 for three people), but hereās the catch: you have to pedal to move! š“āāļø There are three routesāred, yellow, and blue (see pic 5)ābut the owner didnāt explain the directions, so we blindly followed our instincts and, of course, picked the longest red route. š« The owner said we should ideally return in 1.5 hours, but it took us 2.5 hours of non-stop pedaling (with three people taking turns!)ābasically a full lower-body workout. š Thank goodness we brought snacks (prosciutto, cheese cubes, and baby carrotsāso good š„š§). Steering was another struggleājust a slight distraction, and weād veer off course. š The whole canal had only two other unlucky souls stuck in these pedal boats like us. If the scenery hadnāt been so stunning, we definitely wouldāve abandoned ship halfway. š Bonus: We also spotted Utrechtās famous traffic light girls and the Miffy (Nijntje) pedestrian light! š¦š°š„° #Boating #Kayaking #TravelMemories #Travel #Vacation #Explore #Netherlands #Utrecht #Canals šš£āāļøšØ
