A Michelin Chefโs Fried Chicken Joint ๐
I absolutely loved the first Pecking House in Park Slope, especially their Sichuan-spiced and salted-egg-yolk flavored fried chicken. ๐ธ Those were standout dishes! I used to order takeout from them quite often, but recently I discovered that the old location had closed and theyโd opened a new one in Chinatown. ๐ ๐ The new spot in Chinatown is even more affordable. You can basically eat your fill for just a few bucks. Theyโve also updated their menu. ๐ข The double-barreled drumsticks are huge, coated in a generous layer of salted egg yolk. The skin is crispy and flavorful, while the inside chicken is tender. The seasoning could be a bit more penetrating, but itโs still fantastic. ๐ ๐๏ธI also ordered the Spice Bag platter with curry sauce, which included fries, chicken tenders, and bell pepper beans. Dipped in the curry sauce, it was incredibly delicious! ๐ Eating in doesnโt require a tip, but the downside is that there are only a few tables. For just a few bucks, you can experience a Michelin chefโs recipe. Totally worth it! ๐ฐ ๐ 83 Henry St Shop 1, New York, NY 10002 #NewYork #FoodRecommendation #FriedChicken ๐
