A Museum in a Greenhouse Park

📎 In this European paradise of museums, why is the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen, Denmark, so impressed? Partly because it was my first destination in Denmark, offering a fresh experience; partly because there’s not much introduction online, but the visit exceeded my expectations. 📍 Unlike many traditional European museums, the core area of the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek is a massive indoor greenhouse, placing artworks within a garden setting. The collection primarily consists of the personal belongings of Carl Jacobsen, the son of the founder of the Carlsberg brewery. Despite being a brewer, Carl was passionate about art, acquiring Greek sculptures and various other pieces to establish this place. 🍃 Founded in 1888 and located in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital, this museum not only houses an abundant collection of artworks but also offers a journey through time, experiencing the glories of different civilizations. 🍃 Breathtaking architecture and winter gardens As you enter the gallery, you’ll be drawn to the palm trees and the captivating building itself. Tall palm trees thrive under the greenhouse-like glass dome, with sunlight streaming through, creating a tranquil and naturally infused space. The greenery and exquisite sculptures complement each other, forming a serene oasis of comfort and joy. 🍃 The museum showcases a rich art collection, including sculptures, paintings🎨, and more. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or a tourist new to art, this place will leave you deeply impressed and delighted. 🍃 The museum also features a beautiful garden, perfect for the whole family to relax. After visiting the museum, why not take a break at the museum’s café? Sitting in the café, enjoying the view outside through the windows, is a delightful experience. 🍃 Whether you’re an art lover or a history buff, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek offers a unique and profound cultural experience. 🔋 Opening Days: Tuesday to Sunday 10:00-17:00, Thursday nights 10:00-21:00 🎫 One-day Ticket: Adults 125 DKK, Under 27s and students 95 DKK, Free for under 18s 🔹 The Copenhagen Card (CPH Card), Discover, and Hop card are all accepted. 🔹 Just a five-minute walk from the National Museum of Denmark (Nationalmuseet)!
