A Must-Visit Museum in the Netherlands: Rijksmuseum 🖼️
I think the museum visit can be arranged based on personal preferences. I scheduled one museum visit per day. If you're short on time, you could do two museums in one day since they are neighbors—the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum. However, I personally feel that might be a bit rushed. ⏳✨ This time, I booked the earliest ticket at 9 AM, thinking there wouldn't be many people, but to my surprise, there was already a long queue when we arrived! 😲🕘 The Rijksmuseum is truly vast; three hours isn’t enough to see everything properly. We spent about 6-7 hours exploring before we finished! 🏛️👣 Before entering, remember to download their app. It allows you to listen to audio guides while you explore, helping you better understand the works and their stories. You can also find your way around using the app. 📱🔍 If you're looking for a quicker route, take the stairs straight to the second floor and head to the right; at the end, you'll find the famous Instagram-worthy library, The Cuypers Library. If I remember correctly, it's in room 2.18 or 2.19. 📚📸 And don’t miss the most famous painting—the Night Watch by Rembrandt van Rijn! 🧑🎨🌌 This large painting is on the second floor, visible from the front hall to the back. If you want to slowly and thoroughly explore this library, you could easily spend a day here. The museum has two floors, but there’s also a basement. I originally booked an audio tour, but I received a notice the day before that the equipment had issues. They offered a refund, but we got to use it for free to help them with testing that day! 🎧🔊 The staff there suggested we start on the second floor to appreciate the museum's architectural style, then follow the audio tour for our visit. Just a heads up: the first and second floors don't connect, so you need to go down to the ground floor to cross over before continuing your visit on the second floor. 🚶♂️⬆️ We spent nearly 3 hours just on one side of the two floors. Feeling a bit tired, we took a break at the Grand Café in the museum for lunch. There was a long line for the restaurant, but we quickly got seated, and the food was quite good! 🍽️🥗 Rijksmuseum also has a basement, mostly featuring old ship models and historical weaponry. By the time we finished exploring the other side, it was already around 3 or 4 PM! ⏰⚓ The ticket price is €22.50, but if you have a museum card, you can enter for free. 🎟️💳 #Amsterdam #Museum #MuseumVisit #Rijksmuseum
