A neglected and little-known country
From Prague to Slovakia’s Hidden Gems: A Journey to Demänovská Cave & Beyond This time, I took a 6-hour train ride from Prague, Czech Republic, to a charming small town in Slovakia, where I visited one of Europe’s top 10 caves —Demänovská Cave of Liberty (Slovak: Demänovská jaskyňa slobody) . Though the ice formations had melted by this season, the cave was still breathtaking. The 1.8 km developed section took about an hour to explore with a guide (unfortunately, the tour was only in Slovak). Shortly after entering, there was a mesmerizing light and music show , where the illumination shifted in sync with a symphony—an unforgettable experience. 😁😁😁 Slovakia is known as the country with the most castles in the world , but due to the weather, I skipped them this time. Instead, I explored the surrounding area, hiked to a picturesque waterfall , and drank mineral water from a nearby spring, which locals believe has healing properties! The region is also dotted with thermal spas , making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. ❤️❤️❤️ Though the train ride was long, the seats were comfortable, and the scenery outside the window was stunning —rolling hills, dense forests, and quaint villages passing by. For nature lovers, I highly recommend this destination! Compared to expensive Switzerland, Slovakia offers equally majestic snow-capped mountains, lush forests, and warm hospitality —all at a much more affordable price. 😍😍😍 #HiddenGemTravel #OffTheBeatenPath #UnderratedDestinations #SlovakiaAdventures
