A New Affordable Spot in the East Village with Super Fresh Fish! 🐟
Another day of not knowing what to eat and not wanting to cook, so I tried the newly opened sauerkraut fish place near my home. 📍 Sauerkraut Fish, 96 3rd Ave I went for their signature dish, the sauerkraut fish, which is enough for 2-3 people and comes with two sides and two small dishes. 🐟 The fish was super fresh! According to Wang Gang’s standards, it had the “lampshade curl” (the fish slices were slightly curled), which means it’s fresh and not frozen. 💰 The average cost per person was just $30. With two extra small dishes, it was still under $40. The owner even came over to offer a 12% discount (88% of the price) if I posted about the new opening on social media (I went last weekend, not sure if it still applies). There are also discounts on Meituan now. I also added the salt-rimmed dry-mixed beef recommended by the waiter. This dish is a northern favorite — it’s spicy and dry-mixed without any sauce. #HiddenGems #NewYorkLife 🌃🌟
