A New Night Market With Over 50 Vendors Is Coming To The Sunset District This Weekend
San Francisco has had numerous successful night markets recently, including a market in Chinatown every 2nd Friday that has drawn thousands to Grant Ave. Valencia Street has also added a vibrant evening market and neighborhood celebration. Fort Mason has hosted a monthly craft fair and food truck market. Now, a new night market is debuting in the Sunset District this Friday, September 26 . Sunset After Dark will take place on Irving Street, between 21st Ave and 23rd Ave, from 5 to 9 pm on Friday. The market will feature over 50 local vendors, including Jellof Kitchen, Curry Up Now, Flow Tea, and more. You can also expect retail vendors and organizations at the market, including a puzzle club and nonprofit organizations in attendance. The market will also include plenty of entertainment, including a Lion Dance at 5:30 pm , a dance troupe, and even a rib-eating contest. If you want to keep the fun going, Silver Spur and Goa Viet Kitchen will host an after-party starting at 9 pm . The night market is presented by Dear Community, a group of activists who were inspired to create community events to create a safe space following anti-Asian hate and violence during the Covid-19 pandemic. Dear Community aims to support Asian-owned small businesses in the city, with events like Sunset After Dark to encourage people to try new businesses. Irving Street is packed with many wonderful restaurants, and if you haven’t been to the neighborhood recently, the night market is the perfect time to explore the area. The Sunset District hosted two popular night markets in 2024, drawing thousands to Irving Street across seven blocks, although there is no news of them returning for 2025. The market is this Friday, September 26, from 5 to 9 pm on Irving Street . We recommend taking Muni to the market, as it may be challenging to find parking with the street closures.
