A Perfect Birthday Dinner – An Unforgettable Culinary Journey! 🎂🍾✨

This was our fourth visit to The Library—twice for lunch and twice for dinner, both before and after the pandemic—and each time, the experience feels even more magical. From the stunning entrance adorned with art and intriguing interiors to the stylish bar on the ground floor, every detail captivates. Walking up the chic staircase leads you to the grand dining room—the Library and Lecture Room—a magnificent space with glass panels, a breathtaking pink tassel chandelier, and elegant fuel letters displayed in the corner. It’s not just a meal; it’s an atmosphere. 🏛️💖 We opted for the tasting menu, knowing it would be extraordinary based on our previous à la carte experiences. And it did not disappoint—every dish was a celebration of flavor and creativity! Here’s how the night unfolded: 🍉 Amuse-Bouche: A delightful selection of five bites—Campari-soaked watermelon, sharp Granny Smith apple, and a fresh oyster with curry sauce. So refreshing and inventive! Followed by brioche and malt sourdough served with three types of butter: caramel, salted, and cultured. 🧈🍞 🍣 First Course: Tuna tartare with corn ice cream and fresh dill. Served with three types of tea, one paired with ice cream—a refreshing, palate-cleansing start! 🍄 Second Course: A stunning composition of nuts and girolle mushrooms with caramelized roasted onion and a whole-grain sauce. One of the best mushroom-and-onion combinations I’ve had in years! 🦞 Third Course: Two modest portions of lobster in a rich bisque-style sauce. Absolutely delicious—though I wouldn’t have minded a bit more lobster! 😉 🍉 Fourth Course: A trio of watermelon cloud, zucchini donut (like tempura zucchini flower), and eggplant ravioli. Light, imaginative, and beautifully balanced—another palate-cleanser that felt like three dishes in one. 🐟 Main – Red Mullet: Lightly cured and perfectly tender. 🥩 Main – Wagyu: Rich, flavorful, and simply exquisite. 🍰 Dessert Flight: An incredible parade of seven dessert plates! Each one unique, beautiful, and a sweet conclusion to an epic meal. All of this was gracefully paired with a bottle of aged champagne 🍾, elevating every moment. And as a special surprise—we were invited to tour the kitchen! 👨‍🍳🔪 A wonderful behind-the-scenes look at where the magic happens.
