A Perfect Day at Denver Art Museum 🇺🇸🎨
After two months here, finally made it downtown! Went from gloomy morning chill to bright sunshine while exploring (Museum hours 🕖 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM) ☁️➡️☀️ 🏛️ The museum has two buildings. Enter through the modern 4-story wing, then cross via the Impressionist gallery (saw some unexpected Monets!) and a Mexican parade float exhibit to reach the 7-story main building. Tour top-down: 7️⃣ American Western Art: Native cultures & cowboys in oils 🤠🖼️ 6️⃣ Pre-1800s Europe: Portraits galore 👑🎭 5️⃣ Asian Arts: China/Japan/Korea + Buddhist art. Highlight: Empress Dowager Cixi’s robe + annotated sketches! Also, a rare adorable Tang Dynasty figurine 🏯🐉 4️⃣ Latin American: So many playful ceramics/stone works—way cuter than expected! 😍 3️⃣ Indigenous Arts: Fascinating regional similarities pre-modern era 🌎 2️⃣ Pacific NW & Alaska Native: Totem poles + woodcarvings 🪵🐻 1️⃣ Rotating exhibits: Missed the Mexican chairs this time 🪑❓ Each floor has mini themed exhibits! The modern wing focuses on contemporary art 🖌️💥 Architectural win: Stunning indoor/outdoor spaces frame views of Central Park, downtown Denver, and distant peaks 🏙️🏔️ 🎟️ Ticket tip: Get a visitor sticker for re-entry all day! 🥪 Lunch break: Hit the wildly popular Leven Deli Co. next door—their sandwiches are worth the hype! 🥖😋 ⚠️ Weekend heads-up: Central Park was a Mexican festival maze—had to detour big time! Pro tip: Enter via the security checkpoint shortcut. #MuseumDay #Denver #DenverTravel #ArtLover #ContemporaryArt #DenverEats #USA #TravelUSA #ArtMuseum #DAM
