A Perfect Location, Great Rooms—Just a Bit Slow When It’s Busy!
I recently stayed at the Sheraton while attending a conference in New Orleans. The hotel was fully packed—not only with our conference attendees, but also guests for a UFC fight event and a youth gathering, many of whom were also staying at the Sheraton. Overall, it’s a lovely hotel: the lobby feels warm and welcoming, the luggage service is efficient, and the location couldn’t be better for sightseeing. You can easily walk to major attractions or hop right onto the streetcar just outside! 🚋 We upgraded our room since standard double rooms were overbooked. Our suite was beautiful—it came with a small kitchen, a cozy sofa lounge area, stunning city views, and a comfortable king bed. There was also a pull-out sofa bed that our two kids used. 🛋️✨ The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is the check-in experience. After a 23-hour journey, we arrived at 7 PM (3 hours after check-in time), but due to housekeeping delays, our room wasn’t ready. We waited an hour to get in, only to find just the main bed made—the sofa bed wasn’t set up, and no one had even mentioned it was a sofa bed! We had to call the front desk again, wait for it to be prepared, then request extra pillows… which took another 45 minutes to arrive. 😓 With two jet-lagged kids aged 2 and 5, stuck napping in the lobby, we were pretty disappointed that the hotel didn’t offer an apology or any gesture to make up for the wait. It felt like the staff was simply overwhelmed by the crowds. Still, we’d book here again—the location, cleanliness, and the view from our suite were truly excellent. ⚠️ A quick heads-up: during peak times, elevator waits can stretch to 20 minutes or more—once I waited over 30 minutes with two kids and a stroller! 🕒👶 #SheratonNOLA #NewOrleansStay #FamilyTravel #HotelReview #TravelTips #ConferenceTrip #UFCWeekend #NOLAHotel #MixedExperience ⭐⭐⭐⭐
