A Rainy Day Discovery in East London 🌧️

We were coming out of the flower market, unsure where to go next. A friend mentioned the famous Brat was just around the corner, so we decided to give it a try and see if we could get a table. Appetizers 🍖 Grilled Bread with Girolles & Spenwood The combination of chanterelle mushrooms and goat cheese was really fragrant, with a hint of truffle flavor. The cheese was very creamy, and the bread was a bit like a puffed-up naan. Moorland Beef Tartare The first bite was different from other tartares. The spices were a bit overpowering and affected the taste of the meat. The large salt grains were not evenly distributed on the small portion of beef, which was a bit too salty for some. My friend, who prefers less salty food, couldn't handle it after one bite haha. We tried eating it with radish, but the textures still felt a bit separated. Yuze Seabass This one was amazing! The marinated raw fish had just the right amount of saltiness, with a refreshing citrus and yuzu-like flavor that completely masked any fishy taste. It was like eating a high-end body lotion haha. Main Course Duck Rice 🥬 The duck hearts on top were incredibly tender, with a rich, aromatic offal flavor. The duck meat was also very flavorful, even without the fatty parts. The rice was mixed with duck liver, which showed a lot of thought in the preparation. Grilled Greens Not too bitter and not too sour—that's my standard for greens. They were just okay haha. Dessert 🍦🧀 Olive Oil Ice Cream with Fig This was my first time trying olive oil ice cream, and it was surprisingly good. It had some crunchy bits and wasn't as greasy as I expected. Burnt Cheesecake & Pear The Basque cheesecake was soft and more like a mousse, which is a bit too light for my taste. I prefer a firmer, richer texture, so I thought it was just okay. Overall, it was a really good experience! The seabass and duck rice left a strong impression. We had been looking forward to this for six months, and we were very happy with the meal. It's a great place for dining with friends or on a date. We went for lunch, but I think the atmosphere would be even better at night. #UKFood #LondonLife #EastLondon #Michelin #MichelinRestaurantReview #SpanishCuisine #LondonEats
