A Relaxing River Walk Getaway

šŸŒ†Here’s a detailed and casual recap of my 4-day, 3-night road trip to San Antonio—a mix of highlights, food reviews, and tips for anyone planning a similar visit! šŸš— Day 1: Arrival & Settling In Accommodation: Stayed at Hyatt Regency Riverwalk. āœ… Pros: Great location, friendly service, nice hotel bar. āŒ Cons: Soundproofing was poor—could hear late-night parties from downstairs. Dinner: Ate at Q Kitchen in the hotel. Food was decent, and the restaurant wasn’t too crowded even on a weekend. Evening: Chilled at the hotel bar—cozy and comfortable. šŸ¹ 🌊 Day 2: River Walk Vibes & A Mixed Bag Morning/Afternoon: Leisurely stroll along the River Walk. So scenic and relaxing! 🌿 Dinner: Toro Kitchen + Bar šŸ‘Ž Had to walk a long way due to construction. Reserved in advance, but the place was empty—should’ve been a red flag! Cocktails were overly sweet, food was too salty. Not recommended! Evening: Go Rio Cruise 🚤 The highlight of the day! Soothing breeze, funny captain with great storytelling—absolutely worth it! šŸ˜„ šŸŽØ Day 3: Brunch, Museums & The Best Meal Brunch: Domingo Restaurant (near River Walk) āœ… Food and service were both excellent! Activities: Briscoe Western Art Museum: Small but well-organized and beautifully curated. A pleasant visit! 🤠 The Alamo: Free entry but requires advance reservation (QR code). Was pretty crowded but historically meaningful. Walked around downtown admiring the architecture. Dinner: Boudro’s on the River Walk šŸ„‘šŸ¹ The BEST meal of the trip! Must-try: Guacamole made tableside—fresh and flavorful! Every entrĆ©e we ordered was delicious. Great drinks, atmosphere, and service. Highly recommend! šŸ‘‹ Day 4: Heading Home with a Quick Detour Stopped by The Shops at La Cantera—a nice open-air mall. Quick coffee at Capital One Cafe ā˜• before hitting the road. Final Thoughts: Road trips are tiring but worth it! Weather was mild (luckily!). Locals were friendly. You really don’t need to leave the River Walk area—it has everything you need for a short getaway. šŸ’” Tips for Your Trip Book popular restaurants in advance (like Boudro’s). Reserve your Alamo ticket online—it’s free but time-slots fill up. Avoid Toro Kitchen + Bar—there are way better options! The Go Rio Cruise is a must, especially at night. San Antonio may be a small city, but its River Walk charm and Southern hospitality make it a lovely destination. Until next time! šŸ‘‹šŸ’– #US #Texas #San Antonio
