A romantic town by the Indian Ocean

Mossel Bay: The Second Stop on the Garden Route! We've arrived at Mossel Bay, the second stop on the Garden Route! This place is like a fairy-tale coastal town! I've already soaked up the romance of the Indian Ocean for you all. 🌊 🚗 A 2-Hour Fairy-Tale Drive Starting from Swellendam and heading south, the car windows whisk past vast vineyards and golden wheat fields. Suddenly, the sound of the Indian Ocean's waves wakes us up — our hotel, The Point Hotel & Spa, is right by the sea!! Pushing open the balcony doors reveals crashing waves. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean is such a magical experience!! ighthouse Romance Under the Lighthouse Climbing to the lighthouse viewpoint on the hilltop, I instantly understood Cao Cao's grandeur in "Climbing the Jieshi to View the Vast Sea"!! Waves crash against the black rocks, and the little hyraxes are out and about 🐇. Some are nibbling on green plants, while others are dozing in the crevices of the rocks. This is the true way to embrace a slow life, isn't it? 🍴 Seafood with Non-Alcoholic Beer Highly recommend the seafood platter at the Kingfisher Restaurant by the sea!! Mussels + shrimp + squid, all perfectly grilled. It's much better than that disappointing trendy place! I must also recommend the South African national beer, Savana 🍻. The non-alcoholic version tastes like sparkling apple juice. As someone who doesn't drink, I managed to finish the whole bottle!! 🌙 A Scary Night Walk (False Alarm) After dinner, we walked back to the hotel in the dark. The 400-meter coastal path was nerve-wracking. I clutched the unfinished glass bottle as a "weapon." Passing by a campsite, the warm yellow lights made me feel a bit more at ease. This kind of human touch is so reassuring. ☕️ A Morning Brushed with Seal Performances The next day, I spent time at the lighthouse café, enjoying a piece of chocolate cake with sugar grains (South African desserts didn't disappoint me, haha). The café owner was very talkative, chatting about seals, dolphins, and water activities. From the café, you can see the brave ones on the zip line over the sea. I'll just watch from the sidelines. Later, on the beach, I saw three seals jump out of the water in a neat line, doing somersaults. It was more impressive than a Disney show!! There was also a man on the beach who sculpted a dolphin vs. a giant python wrestling an alligator out of sand. What a hidden artist!! ⚓️ Pirate Dreams at the Maritime Museum Visiting the local maritime museum, I saw a 1:1 replica of an ancient sailing ship. It instantly brought to mind the Black Pearl from "Pirates of the Caribbean," cutting through the waves. It would have been perfect if I could have worn a tricorn hat for a photo!! ✨ Next Stop Preview Saying goodbye to Mossel Bay, we're heading straight to Knysna. There's a breathtakingly beautiful lagoon there. We even managed to capture a pink and purple sunset + diamond-like stars. You guys better get ready to see these amazing photos!! #SouthAfricaTravel #MosselBay #mosselbay #GardenRoute #GardenRouteTravelTips #TravelDiaryAfterResignation #TencentResignation #YearningForTheGrasslands
