A Surprise Gator Adventure!

You can't come to Florida without seeing some alligators! 🐊 And let me tell you, they are absolutely adorable! Even though this was a last-minute decision, it turned out to be one of the most fun and memorable experiences. We visited the Sawgrass Recreation Park, and here's why it was so great: The Airboat Ride:​ 🚤💨 This was the highlight! The airboat "flies" across the water at high speed, skimming over the marshes. It was an exhilarating ride as we zigzagged through the swamps, searching for wildlife and wild alligators in their natural habitat. The wind in your hair, the spray of water—it felt like a real adventure! The Animal Encounter:​ 🦎🐍 Touching Gators:​ We got to touch and even hold a baby alligator! Their skin feels surprisingly cool and leathery—kind of like a bumpy, wet handbag. They were so calm and gentle, just little prehistoric-looking cuties. It was incredibly cool and, yes, very Other Animals:​ There were some other small animals to see, though it was a bit quiet because of the season. The snakes, for example, mostly seemed to be "hibernating," with only one brave soul "on duty" for visitors. 😴 The Staff:​ Everyone who worked there was super nice and knowledgeable. They clearly love the animals and are happy to share interesting facts. Transportation for the Car-Free:​ 🚌 Since we didn't have a car, we had to join a tour. This was actually perfect because the tour bus provided round-trip transportation. It meant we could enjoy the adventure without worrying about getting stranded in the middle of nowhere! No (being stranded in the wilderness) for us! 😅 If you're looking for a fun, hands-on way to experience Florida's unique wildlife, Sawgrass Recreation Park is a fantastic choice.
