A Train Journey to Celje: Science & Medieval Charm
šHopping on a train from Maribor to Celje (Slovenia's third-largest city, 60km east of Ljubljana), šI nearly missed my rideāarriving at the ticket counter just 5 minutes before departure, then sprinting to Platform 8 as the doors opened. Perfect timing! š° Medieval Magic šCelje captivated me with its well-preserved history and autumn-kissed landscapes. š¦Climbing to Celje Castle, I was rewarded with panoramic views over terracotta rooftops and the Sava River valley. š¦The hike up felt like walking through a natural oil paintingāforests aflame with fall colors. š¦ Sweet Pit Stops š¦ā¢ Roman ruins hiding in plain sight šā¢ Gelato shops on every corner (essential fuel!) š§Ŗ Tehnopark: Where Science Comes Alive šThe highlight? Tehnopark, an interactive science center where kids (and curious adults) can: ā Experiment with hands-on exhibits ā Play recycling games ā Experience disability simulations (wheelchair/visual impairment activities) š Note: English-speaking staff were attentive but unobtrusiveāand crowds were refreshingly light. š Takeaway: Some of lifeās best giftsālike autumn vistas and empathy-building momentsāare priceless and free. #Slovenia #Celje #ScienceEducation #HiddenGems #CastleViews
