A True Historic Gem! ποΈπ
When planning our four-night holiday in New Orleans, we wanted a hotel right in the heart of the neighborhood that still preserved its authentic historic charm. We werenβt looking for a modern chain hotel β and the Dauphine Hotel turned out to be the perfect choice! We booked a King Superior Room in the Hermann House, staying from Monday to Thursday nights. The room was absolutely wonderful! We had access to a beautiful balcony facing Dauphine Street πΏ, the bed was super comfortable ποΈ, the room stayed cool even in the humid weather, and the hot water never ran out β truly ideal! That said, thereβs something you should know β something most people might not expect when staying in a historic building: the outside sounds are very noticeable. At 6 AM, when IV Waste came to collect trash and clean the streets, we woke up to the noise as if they were right outside our window β because they were! π The room doors are original and vintage (which we loved!), but youβll notice some light seeping through around the edges. Still, the property is so well-maintained that we had zero issues with bugs or critters ππ«. You might also hear people singing, arguing, or cheering on Bourbon Street after the parties wind down β but honestly, it all added to the authentic vibe ππΆ. We visited during the week the rainy season ended, so the noise level was milder compared to peak season. All in all, this is a beautifully preserved piece of history, full of character and charm. I would absolutely stay here again! Highly recommend for travelers who value uniqueness and a true sense of place. #HistoricHotel #NewOrleansCharm #FrenchQuarter #TravelThrowback #UniqueStay
