A Walk-In Bistro in the 6th District That Doesn't Accept Reservation

Freddy's is right next to Semilla. I heard it’s run by the same owner. The night before, I had dinner at Semilla, and when I passed by Freddy's later that evening, it was bustling! The atmosphere was incredible—locals chatting and enjoying drinks. I asked if they had any tables, and luckily, they had a spot open. Even better, I got a seat with a view of the kitchen. Perfect! 🥂 🧩 Freddy's is a classic Parisian bistro where the portions are just right—perfect for someone with a smaller appetite like me. I heard they change their menu regularly, which keeps things interesting. 1️⃣ Must-try: The white wine and cream clams. The flavors are unlike any clams I’ve had before, but they’re not at all greasy. I could have easily ordered another plate. 2️⃣ The smoked duck breast and beef are so similar it’s hard to tell them apart. The spinach purée underneath is delicious—I could have licked the plate clean. 3️⃣ The Angus beef with green sauce is tasty but a bit tough to cut. The green sauce is also delicious, though I couldn’t quite figure out what vegetables were in it. 4️⃣ The fried sweet potato is similar to our fried radish fritters. The sweet potatoes are cut into thin strips and then formed into balls before being fried. 5️⃣ The rice pudding is topped with roasted peanuts and caramel chunks, which balance out the richness of the pudding. The texture of the rice is perfect—delicious! I didn’t try any alcohol because I’m allergic, which was a bit of a pity.
