A Walk Through Tucson's Residential Areas
1. Tucson, with a population of 500,000, holds the position of the second largest city in Arizona. Apart from the small downtown section, high-rise edifices are scarce in this city. Instead, individual houses are spread out evenly across the sandy terrain, much like a vast residential complex. ππ ποΈ This layout imparts a distinct character to the place, offering a sense of tranquility and a cozy neighborhood feel. ππ³π 2. To the north of the city lie mountains. As dusk approaches each day, the setting sun transforms the barren mountain sides into a vivid orange-red hue. πππ It's a sight that never fails to mesmerize, as if nature is using its paintbrush to create a magnificent canvas right before our eyes, enhancing the allure of the entire landscape. ππΌοΈπ 3. Thanks to the warm sunlight and its closeness to Mexico, Tucson's streets are frequented by a fair number of homeless individuals. Nevertheless, I was still eager to wander around the residential areas. In a way, one could think, "What's there to fear from an old chap?" ππ΄πΆ Thus, slipping on my sunglasses and donning a hoodie, I made my way into the residential parts of Tucson. ππΆοΈπ 4. Pedestrians are a rare sight, with cars being the main presence. The gigantic cacti standing in front of the houses serve as the most characteristic adornments of the city. The blooming bougainvillea can even rival that found in tropical Hainan Island. ππ΅πΈ These elements combine to infuse the streets with a vibrant and charming ambience, making it seem like a little slice of tropical heaven. πππ΄ 5. At the entrance of each household, there's a mailbox, almost as if it's marking its territory. The wooden utility poles, however, evoke memories of Western movies. ππ¬πͺ΅ They lend a rustic and nostalgic touch to the area, transporting you back to the scenes portrayed in those classic Westerns. ππ₯ποΈ 6. The public transport in Tucson is free of charge. But upon seeing the rather uniquely dressed people waiting at the bus stops, I opted to walk instead. Before bidding farewell to Tucson, I'm determined to give its public transport a try. πππΆ It's an aspect of the city that remains unexplored for me, and I'm curious to discover what the experience will be like on board. ππΊοΈπ #TucsonStroll #ResidentialView #CityAdventure
