A Weekend in Philly: Thai Food + Natural Sciences Museum
Thai Restaurant: Chon Tong Hoi Tod 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Thai-style fried clams, with crispy edges that are just perfect. The complimentary sauce is a great match, with a tangy and sweet flavor that really whets the appetite. Tum Sua 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Green papaya salad. This place offers a variety of green papaya salads. The one we ordered had a powdery texture. The seasoning was excellent, with a perfect balance of sour and spicy. If you can't handle too much spice, I wouldn't recommend going for the extra spicy option. We ordered medium spicy, which was just right for us. I'm not usually a fan of green papaya salad, but my boyfriend loves it and orders it every time. However, this one was really delicious and worth recommending. Guay Tiew Tom Yum 🌟🌟 The Tom Yum noodle soup was just okay. The noodles didn't really absorb the flavors, but the soup itself was pretty good, with a nice spicy and slightly sour taste. Khao Pad Pineapple 🌟🌟🌟🌟 I always order pineapple fried rice when I go to a Thai restaurant, and this one had the worst presentation I've seen. However, the taste was great. It had a nice wok hei (the unique flavor from stir-frying), and there was plenty of meat hidden underneath. It was fragrant and delicious, definitely worth ordering. For two people, we ordered all the dishes shown in the picture and had half a bowl of rice left to take away. The total cost before tax was $73. Natural Sciences Museum: The Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University This museum is called The Academy of Natural Sciences. It has a lot of skeletons and fossils, as well as other biological exhibits. It's a great place for kids to explore and learn. They also offer interactive activities for children. Although I don't have kids and didn't try the hands-on projects, the dinosaurs are always fascinating to see no matter how many times you visit. The ticket price is $28, with a $2 discount for students, which you can purchase directly at the entrance. #Philadelphia #PhillyLife #PhillySurroundings #PhillyFood
