Aarhus | The Iceberg

🧊 From a distance, The Iceberg looks like a floating iceberg suspended over the sea. In reality, it’s a residential area by the water, not a traditional tourist spot. Yet its striking architecture makes it a must-see. Rose-colored “Iceberg Residences” sit at the outer harbor of Aarhus, Denmark’s eastern new district, transformed from an industrial container port into a vibrant community🎨 🍃 The project, designed by CEBRA, JDS, SeARCH, and Louis Paillard Architects, comprises 208 apartments. 🌟 The design is inspired by the site’s extraordinary location and stunning views. 🌟 Architects used jagged rooflines to create peaks and valleys, sculpting the “floating iceberg” effect. White exteriors with light-blue balconies evoke a crystalline iceberg. 🍎 The layout features four L-shaped buildings facing the sun, with central streets open to the water. 🎣The architecture’s zigzagging cuts create a varied, stepped massing. 🎣The entire complex appears as an iceberg floating on the sea; the staggered volumes also optimize sunlight and bay views. 🍎 As one of the first buildings in Aarhus’s harbor redevelopment, The Iceberg is not only an innovative residential design but also a crucial step in urban revitalization. #Denmark #Aarhus #DanishArchitecture #IcebergDesign
