Acadia | We Sat on the Rocks, Watching the Sea
Let’s be healed by the forest, the sea, and delicious food together ❤️🩹 I recently visited Acadia National Park in Maine, and I want to share my 4-day, 3-night mini-vacation itinerary—filled with fresh air, photography, hiking, and eating my way through the area! Part 1 Day 1️⃣ Explore & Eat in Portland Morning: Flew into Portland. As a classic New England small city, Portland has charming street scenes and beautiful coastlines—perfect for wandering around or taking photos. 📸 Afternoon: Explore and dine in Old Port. There are countless restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, and street stalls here, plus lots of seafood spots by the pier. 🦪 J's Oyster: A budget-friendly seafood spot with great quality. The oysters we ordered were super fresh, the Lobster Stew was rich and creamy, and the Peach Salad was light and refreshing—total comfort food! 🇧🇪 Duckfat: A Belgian eatery famous for duck fat fries and sandwiches. The fries’ secret weapon? Freshly made mayonnaise (you can pick different flavors)—it takes them to the next level! 🍟 🍩 Holy Donut: The iconic potato donuts everyone talks about—moist, fluffy, and totally worth the hype. 🍦 Coastal Creamery: Their blueberry ice cream is light and refreshing, the perfect sweet treat for a sunny afternoon. Day 2️⃣ Wander & Snap Photos in Acadia Morning: Drove to Acadia—about a 3-hour drive. Headed straight to Bar Harbor for lunch once we arrived. 🦞 Atlantic Brewing Midtown: We had bouncy, juicy lobster rolls and blueberry soda here—simple, fresh, and so satisfying! Afternoon: Entered Acadia to wander and take photos. 🌳 We arrived in the late afternoon, so there were fewer people and cars—we got to enjoy the entire beach and rocky shores all to ourselves! Everything glowed in the sunset; the weather was cooler, the sunlight softer, and it felt so comfortable. Plus, the photos turned out absolutely stunning! ⛱️ Sand Beach: Super family-friendly! We saw lots of families with kids playing in the water, and there are showers at the site to rinse off afterward. 👨👩👧👦 🌊 Thunder Hole: As the name suggests, it’s a cave where seawater crashes in with a booming sound, like thunder. The park recommends visiting at high tide to hear the "thunder," but we actually heard a louder, clearer sound at low tide—there was less noise from crowds and distant waves, so the cave’s rumble stood out more! If you want to check high tide, be sure to look up the tide chart and go when the tide height is high. #Maine #ChillTravel #Weekend #NewYork #QuitMyJobDiary #Healing #Travel
