Acadia Food Guide: The Underrated Gems

Beyond the lobster feasts and endless ice cream cones on this trip, I wanted to mix things up—so I checked out two highly-rated spots on TripAdvisor and Google that fly under most travelers’ radars. Heads up: the average cost per person is around $50–$100, but they’re worth it. Scroll for all the photos! 📍 First Stop: Project Social Kitchen & Bar The ambiance here is chef’s kiss—super inviting. There’s street parking nearby, and they’re open from 4 PM to 9 PM, but be prepared for a wait. We arrived around 8:30 PM right after watching the sunset, and the host asked for our phone number, saying the wait would be 40 minutes. We decided to kill time by popping to the grocery store to restock on water and snacks… but we’d barely stepped inside when the call came: our table was ready! Total wait time? Only 15 minutes—score. ⏳ Every dish here is unique and delicious. The tuna tartare, scallops, beef skewers, and braised pork belly were all standouts, but the scallops deserve a special shoutout. They were so tender and juicy, melting in my mouth instantly—easily some of the best scallops I’ve ever had. 👍 The plating is elegant, and the ingredients are fresh, so our server kindly warned us: you’ll need 1–2 small plates per person to feel full. 😀 We’d planned to grab a late-night snack later, so we only ordered lightly—and with tax, the four of us paid around $200 total. By the end, two of us were too full for round two, and the other two still had a little room. Trust me, the flavor makes every penny worth it. 💐 📍 Second Stop: Brasserie LeBrun This spot also has great reviews and stays open until midnight—sadly, we showed up way too late, and their regular dinner service was over. But they had a late-night special menu, and the first two photos here are the translated regular menu I prepped beforehand! The seafood was incredibly fresh, served simply to let the flavors shine—and there were discounts too. Their main menu looks amazing, so I’m already looking forward to trying it on my next trip. 🦞 📍 Honorable Mention: Havana A friend wanted to check out this Latin American spot, but between our tight schedule and full bellies, we had to save it for later.
