Afternoon Tea at the German Reichstag 🍰 VIP Experience 🥂
Continuing my city walk in Berlin, visiting famous landmarks 🚶🏻♀️➡️ 🏛️ About the Reichstag Building: Located in the heart of Berlin, this landmark features a massive glass dome designed by the renowned architect Norman Foster. It symbolizes the transparency of the German government and its openness to democracy. You can ascend the spiral ramp to enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Berlin area from the top of the dome. 🍴 About Käfer Restaurant: One of the few rooftop restaurants in Berlin, Käfer not only offers high-quality Bavarian cuisine and exquisite afternoon tea but also allows you to dine while enjoying breathtaking city views 🏬✨. 👸🏻 Visiting the Reichstag Experience: By booking the afternoon tea Aperitif 🍰 in advance on the Käfer website, I was able to enjoy VIP treatment. No reservation or waiting was necessary to directly access the dome of the Reichstag for sightseeing and dining! 😋 After verifying our identities with security, we were guided through a dedicated security checkpoint, and then we took the elevator straight to the dome and the restaurant on the rooftop 🛗. This created a seamless experience for guests to enjoy the views and the meal. ⚠️ Important‼️ All visitors to the Reichstag must bring a valid ID or original passport 🪪. 🥂 Käfer Afternoon Tea Experience: The restaurant's entrance is directly opposite the dome entrance, making it easy to find. The staff was very welcoming, and as soon as we were seated, a server promptly brought the afternoon tea menu and set the table 🍴. The set menu costs €29 per person and includes a glass of champagne 🥂, but you can also request tea 🫖 or other beverages instead. The top tier of the afternoon tea tower features a choice of three items; my companion and I chose the pear cheesecake 🍰 and chocolate tart 🍫. The chocolate mousse was rich and flavorful, and the tart crust was delightful. However, the cheesecake lacked a memorable quality, as the pear flavor was quite subtle and only a thin layer was present 🍐. The second and bottom tiers of the afternoon tea consist of fixed items: four mini pastries and two savory sandwiches 🥪. The portions were quite generous, with the black sesame ball on the second tier being a standout for its rich flavor. The sandwiches on the bottom tier were also tasty, but the other desserts were rather ordinary. Overall ambiance: 5/5 🌟 Afternoon tea flavor: 3.8/5 🌟 If you're purely after delicious food, Käfer might not be the best choice, but if you want to skip the lines to visit the Reichstag and enjoy the views while dining, I highly recommend it! 🤩 #ArchitecturalDesignAesthetics #HiddenGemRestaurant #HolidayPassion #Germany #BerlinLife #Berlin #BerlinExploration #ReichstagBuilding
