Alaska|Restaurant Check-in Collection

Alaska|Restaurant Check-in Collection (1) 🍽️ 📍 Hometown Restaurant 2225 S Cushman St, Fairbanks, AK 99701 A brunch spot near our Airbnb with relatively higher ratings than other places in the area 🏡✨ The Christmas vibes inside were strong 🎍 The food was pretty good too 😌 (maybe all American breakfasts taste similar though 😅) The menu had plenty of options, but we mostly ordered omelets Portions are huge (two people with small appetites could share one!) If you want to try something local, go for the Reindeer Omelet 🦌 It was our first time eating reindeer meat—here it’s mixed into sausage, so it’s very approachable for tourists. Tastes like sausage but with zero fat, since reindeer meat is naturally lean 🍳🥩 📍 Aurora Crepes & Peking Duck 512 Old Steese Hwy, Fairbanks, AK 99701 We ordered jianbing (savory crepes), baked sesame cakes, and beef noodles 🍜 The jianbing wrapper was on the softer side, but soft egg crepes are still tasty 😋 No crispy fried dough inside—and it was our first time having one with tomatoes 🍅, cucumbers 🥒, and meat. The meat was well-seasoned and fragrant, kinda giving off that nostalgic “only-at-the-school-gate” vibe 🎒✨ Highly recommend the Braised Beef Noodles—tons of meat, and you can choose your noodle type. It comes with a bowl of broth to pour in yourself. Having a hot bowl of noodle soup in -30°C weather was incredibly satisfying 😌 They do offer dine-in, but all food comes in takeout containers. If you’re staying a bit far, better to eat there—it cools down super fast once you step outside ❄️ The only downside: service is a bit slow. When we were there, only one table was ahead of us, but we still had to wait through a few rounds of phone games before our food arrived 🎮⏳ 📍 Chowder House 206 Eagle Ave, Fairbanks, AK 99701 Flavors are very classic American diner-style 🇺🇸 ➡️ Shrimp Alfredo ✅ Creamy shrimp pasta—the sauce is super rich and coats the noodles perfectly. They didn’t skimp on the shrimp 🍤✨ Best dish of the meal! ➡️ Chicken Teriyaki Bowl A Chinese-style chicken rice bowl—tastes okay but gives off pre-made vibes 🍚 ➡️ Special Sandwich from the chalkboard ❌ Don’t order it! Even though it has crab meat, it was cold and dry overall 🥪 ➡️ Crab Roll ✅ Recommended! Fresh crab legs—squeeze some lemon on top for extra freshness 🦀🍋 This one is also served cold, but overall pretty good ➡️ Deep-Fried Alaskan Cod ✅ Recommended! You can tell it’s fried fresh—the fish is plump and meaty 🐟🔥 #Alaska#AlaskaFood#Fairbanks#FairbanksGuide#FairbanksFood#AlaskaTravel
