Alaska | The Best Jianbing in Fairbanks 🌯

Overall, dining options in Fairbanks feel fewer compared to Anchorage, but the spots we tried were pretty decent! 😊 Aurora Crepes & Peking Duck As a lifelong jianbing lover 🌯, I ate here two days in a row! (The Crepery was closed on MLK Day, so we missed it β€” but honestly, I prefer savory crepes anyway.) The Peking Duck and Cumin Lamb flavors are the best β€” you can’t go wrong with either! πŸ¦†πŸ‘ The duck portion felt a bit small, but you can customize it β€” no onions, no cilantro, extra spice 🌢️. The chicken noodle soup was just okay β€” we ordered it for someone feeling under the weather, so it served its purpose. 🍜 Seoul Gate We were a little nervous after reading mixed reviews, but since it’s open late, we decided to give it a try. Coming from Atlanta and San Diego, we wouldn’t call it amazing, but it was tasty and β€” most importantly β€” no stomach issues! βœ… The Bibimbap was great and generously sized. We mixed the rice from the tofu soup with gochujang β€” delicious combo! The Soon Tofu Jjigae was average, with not much beef and mild spice. If you can’t handle heat, try the Galbi Soup instead. The seafood pancake was nicely done β€” not too oily, with plenty of seafood. 🦐 The side dishes were decent (loved the potatoes!), but only 6 small plates β€” made us miss that one spot in Anchorage with like a dozen banchan! πŸ˜… Bahn Thai We chose this over Lemongrass and Thai House. It’s right across from Soba (Eastern European cuisine) and was open on MLK Day β€” nice! The Gang Pa Soup was way too salty πŸ§‚ β€” we ended up picking out the meat and veggies and ditching the broth. The Pineapple Fried Rice was good though β€” big chunks of fresh pineapple 🍍, sweet and tangy. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) was pretty average β€” not very spicy, and we’ve had better in Atlanta and San Diego. Wondering if the other two Thai spots might’ve been tastier… πŸ€” Chena Hot Springs Restaurant After a morning of reindeer walking and dog sledding πŸ¦ŒπŸ•, we spent the afternoon at the hot springs and decided to eat at the resort restaurant instead of heading back to town. The burger and sandwich were satisfying, served with salad and fries πŸ₯—πŸŸ, paired with a local Alaska Brewing Company Icy Bay IPA 🍺. Fueled up and ready for a relaxing soak! ♨️ We didn’t get to try Ajimi or Pho House, but honestly, we weren’t too disappointed about missing them. πŸ˜‰ #Fairbanks #FairbanksFood #AnchorageFood #Anchorage #FairbanksEats #TravelGuide #FoodGuide #TravelTips #FairbanksDining #AlaskaEats #NorthernLightsTrip #FoodieDiaries #JianbingLove #EatLocal #FairbanksTravel
