Alaska Summer Travel

➡️Detailed Itinerary & Cost Breakdown💲 ✅June 21-22: Valdez • June 22: Valdez Glacier Lake Kayaking‼️ Since we had already experienced a guided glacier tour in Anchorage, we decided to go for a self-guided kayaking adventure in Valdez~ And it turned out to be super budget-friendly and incredibly fun😭‼️ 👉🏻Self-Guided Valdez Glacier Kayaking Tour We booked this tour, and a double kayak cost only around 💰130🔪 for 3 hours! 📍Meeting Point: Valdez Glacier Lake We had the freedom to explore a vast lake area with various floating ice formations and rocks🪨 that formed maze-like channels — so fascinating!! We also got to see blue ice caves of all sizes‼️ Absolutely stunning! Compared to guided tours that cost over 400🔪 per person, this was such a steal! PS: There were tons of mosquitoes…🦟… 👉🏻Food Recommendations: 1️⃣Nat's Shack 2️⃣The Potato In the afternoon, we visited the Solomon Gulch Hatchery, a salmon hatchery. Unfortunately, by late June, the salmon run hadn’t started yet, so we didn’t get to see seals🦭 or salmon. But there were plenty of seagulls around, and a small waterfall across the way✨ Later, we hiked the Shoup Bay Trail🚶🏻 — a relaxed and chill trail with lots of wildflowers along the way. You can walk all the way to the seaside facing the glaciers. However, mosquitoes were everywhere!! You definitely need a mosquito head net!! For dinner, we had fish again… (yes🙂‍↕️ we still hadn’t finished it all) This time we tried steaming it — and it was pretty good too~ • June 23: Valdez → Anchorage It was foggy and drizzling🌧️ on our way back, so we couldn’t see the scenic views we enjoyed on the way in. This really highlights how important good weather is!! Right outside Valdez, there’s a series of waterfalls. Near the waterfalls, there are several caves and trails to explore… It seemed even more fun than the Shoup Bay Trail we did. If you have time, definitely check it out~ 😍Travel Tips: Always check weather and wildlife activity in advance! Mosquito protection is a MUST in summer Alaska! Self-guided tours can be equally amazing and cost-effective! 🧳Don’t forget to pack: waterproof gear, insect repellent, and a good camera! ✨Alaska’s beauty is worth every effort! #US #Alaska #Valdez
