Alligator Soul 😬

Alligator Soul 😬 A Terrible Restaurant in North America This restaurant is tucked away in Savannah’s old town, with absurdly high ratings on Google and Yelp. But… the experience was so bad I’m questioning everything! 💣 💣 Alligator Soul 💣 📍 114 Barnard St, Savannah, GA 31401 😂 Let’s start with the vibe: The decor is like a dark basement wine cellar, eerily reminiscent of the slave quarters I saw in a museum—super . The menu is "unique" to a fault—think alligator meat, local game, and Southern classics. Mixing these elements sounds tempting, right? 🪿 I thought so too, so I made a reservation weeks in advance, eager to try its "charms"! First, let’s give credit where it’s due👉 The mojito was good, at least the start wasn’t a disaster 🍹 Then… everything went downhill, with more red flags than I could count! 👉 Complimentary bread The fermentation smell was so strong it tasted like raw dough. The texture had layers, but the chive cream spread was surprisingly good—small mercies, I guess 🥛 👉 wedge salad with alligator A Southern staple: half a lettuce head piled with toppings. Their "special" twist? Smoked, sweetened alligator meat. But guess what? It tasted like generic smoked meat—no hint of alligator! At least the salad itself was okay, or I might’ve walked out 🥬 👉 Gumbo Baby Back A classic Southern seafood stew with tomato broth and rice. I thought it was "fine" at the time… until I tried other places later. Turns out, good Gumbo is nothing like this—this was watered-down, with zero seafood flavor 🍲 👉 shrimp&grits Bland to the point of being forgettable! The shrimp had no flavor, and the grits tasted like plain porridge. Every other spot I’ve tried since is way better 🦐 👉 alligator tempura This was so bad it left me speechless 💥 It was just a clump of greasy batter, dripping oil—no trace of alligator meat. The worst dish I’ve had in ages! By the end, I was staring at the table, ing 😩 And to top it off, there was a long line outside when we left. I genuinely don’t get the hype 🤨 Do yourself a favor: Skip this place if you’re in Savannah! Save your time and money! 🚫 #FoodHunt#BrunchHunt#savannah#SavannahFood
