Alpen Rose – A Romantic Western Spot Behind the Secret Rose Door

🌟 Alpen Rose Address: 116 S 13th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 📍 Must-Try Dishes (2nd Visit Favorites!) - 🍞 BONE MARROW TOAST (2nd order, MUST-GET ): Hands down the best bone marrow I’ve ever had! The toast is crispy and buttery, and it’s my first time having it topped with shredded beef—every bite is rich, savory, and totally satisfying. Price: $18 - 🦆 DRY AGED 1/2 DUCK (2nd order, MUST-GET ): Even better than roast duck at many Chinese restaurants! Pairing the duck with fruit takes the flavor to another level—I’m obsessed with this combo 🤤. Price: $42 - 🥔 POTATO PAVÉ: Layered potato dish with a creamy, melt-in-your-mouth texture. If you love potatoes, this is a non-negotiable order! Price: $14 - 🍮 PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN ALASKA (2nd order, RECOMMENDED): The visual presentation is chef’s kiss—so eye-catching! The outer layer has a strong alcohol note, and the overall taste is sweet (we all loved it, though). Price: $14 Dishes to Skip or Note - 🐙 OCTOPUS: NOT recommended. The octopus tasted bitter and had no texture—even the roasted potatoes that came with it were better 😐. Price: $18 - 🥩BONE-IN RIBEYE: Ordered medium-rare, and it was solid! Tastier than their signature Wellington (which is just “okay,” honestly). Price: $78 - 🦞LOBSTER LINGUINE: The pasta itself was nothing special, but the lobster and sauce were pretty good—save room for other stars if you’re full. Price: $64 Drinks - ☕️ Cappuccino: Smooth and creamy, a nice way to end the meal. Price: $5 This spot is easily in my top 4 Western restaurants in Philadelphia—I always crave it after visiting! Check out my first visit notes in the “Philadelphia” collection if you want more details. Whether you’re here for a date or a nice dinner with friends, the cozy, romantic vibe (and that iconic rose door!) plus the standout dishes make it worth every penny. #Philadelphia #PhillyFood #PhillyFoodie #FoodDiary #PhillyLife #RomanticDining #PhillyRestaurants
