📍Amish Country|Pennsylvania's Secluded Town|Part 4
Our last day was more relaxed ☁️. We woke up naturally, explored downtown Lancaster in the morning, then returned to Amish Country to visit a few museums and enjoy some farm fun! Day 3: 📍Lancaster Central Market A market in the heart of downtown Lancaster – much larger than the Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market we visited on the first day! 🍎🧀 It’s lively with plenty to offer: fresh fruits & veggies, smoked meats, dairy products, and local Amish foods. Perfect for a leisurely stroll. Beyond the market, downtown Lancaster itself is great for wandering. Unlike New York, the streets aren’t crowded – everyone moves at their own pace 🚶♀️🚶. The buildings on both sides are beautiful and very photogenic 📸. 📍Choo Choo Barn A model train museum – $12 per person. 🚂✨ It features a huge diorama of a miniature town. You walk around it in a loop (takes about 30 minutes). Every detail is incredibly crafted – even the tiny people inside the train cars! Every vehicle and building is unique. There are also fun interactive buttons that make parts of the display move. Great for both kids and adults! If one loop isn’t enough, you can go around again. Kids could easily spend over an hour here. 📍Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania Just a 2-minute drive from the last stop – $10 per person. 🚉 This museum showcases the history of Pennsylvania’s railroads, with real retired locomotives and train cars dating back to the 19th century. You can see the evolution from wooden trains to coal-powered and later electric ones. If you take your time, you could easily spend an hour here reading and exploring. 📍Cherry Crest Adventure Farm Only 5 minutes by car from the last spot – $25 per person. 🐷🌽 This place is perfect for kids! The ticket includes access to over 50 activities and games. You can visit animals (piglets, lambs, calves, turkeys), enjoy giant slides, basketball, trampolines, and more. They also host daily events like pig races and swimming competitions, plus the largest corn maze in the U.S.! 🌽🧩 We stayed just over two hours, but families could easily spend a whole day here. #TravelDiaries #WeekendGetaway #NYCWeekend #EscapeTheCity #Pennsylvania #HiddenGems
